The first Sermon of the Prophet given in Makkah when he called his people to Islam. The Prophet started the speech by praising Allah and thanking Him and then said:

Story of Repentance

At the time of Musa (AS), a terrible famine occurred. People came to Musa (AS) asked him to pray for rain. Musa (AS) took thousand and thousands of people with him and asked Allah. He sought the Help of Allah for the sake of infants, old pious men, and four footed animals. However, no rain came! It was hot all around.

The Ruling of Reciting Surah Fatihah in Prayer

The opinion of the majority of the scholars, amongst them Malik, Ash-Shafi’i and Ahmad, is that it is obligatory to recite Al-Fatihah in the prayer and that the prayer is invalid without it.

At-Tirmidhi records on the authority of Abu Hurayrah who said that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, [The chapter commencing with],”All praises and thanks are due to Allah the Lord of the worlds” is the Mother of the Quran

This story is a reminder of the power of saying Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) frequently. Let’s remember that the prophet (s.a.w.s.) used to say Istighfar frequently during the day.

Trust in Allah

And He will provide him from [sources] he could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allāh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Indeed, Allāh has set a measure for all things.  Al-Qur’ān, 65:3.

Mankind was one nation, believing in Tawheed, then they differed. Some of them believed and some disbelieved. So Allaah sent the Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, so whoever believes will enter Paradise and whoever disbelieves will enter Hell.

Khalifa Abu Bakr As-Siddiq

After the deaths of Abu Talib and Khadija when the Holy Prophet felt sad and disconsolate, and things for Islam appeared to be dark, the Holy Prophet was uplifted to the Heavens, and there he was assured of the destiny of Islam.
